Your microteach topic can be anything you feel confident teaching. Before creating your PowerPoint presentation, you must first prepare a lesson plan showing what you will teach, how you will deliver it and what you want your learners to achieve.
- Choose a suitable topic for your microteach session.
- Complete your lesson plan before preparing your presentation.
- Create a PowerPoint presentation based on your chosen topic.
- Deliver your 30-minute microteach session to your tutor and peers.
- Use other relevant materials such as written documents, images, videos or handouts if they support your topic.
- Ask two peers from your training group to observe your session and provide feedback from a learner's point of view.
- Complete your own self-evaluation after the presentation and reflect on what went well and what you could improve.
- Receive final feedback from your tutor on your teaching performance.
You will receive a lesson plan form, two peer observation forms and a self-evaluation form with your course materials. These documents will help you prepare for your microteach and record the feedback from your practical assessment.
